You may remember that Bob Cornes came over last year for the Dept. of Environment event at the Societe and gave us a great insight into Bat ID, Acoustic analysis and advice regarding our Bat box project.
He is returning on the weekend of 13-14 May to help us with some bat trapping, handling and ID on the Friday and Saturday nights. We will be limited to a maximum of 15 participants each night so please advise Miranda if you are interested in attending at miranda@collett-trust.org
He will also be giving a talk on the Saturday afternoon on heterodyne calls and ID of European bats as we may well find that we have bats in Jersey that are not in the UK. For example we know that we have Kuhl’s Bats in the island which are rare in the UK. There is no reason why we should not have Greater Mouse-eared Bats here in theory. This is open to all of our members who are interested.
