Individual membership is £10 per year and runs January to December. There are regular meetings, bat walks, training sessions, opportunities to get involved in active bat conservation, as well as to volunteer for stalls etc.

We carry out research work during the summer months including:

  • roost emergence surveys (counting bats coming out of their roosts)
  • activity walks (walks with bat detectors listening bat bat activity levels and recording different species)
  • static detector surveys (automated bat detectors that record bat calls)
  • live trapping of bats (by licenced individuals using specialist equipment we can identify different species, work out breed status ad a unique ID ring to the bats to enable long term studies).

Members are welcome to get as involved as they wish. Our first bat walk of the year usually takes place in April and details can be found on this website and on our Facebook page – Jersey Bat Group.

Membership is annual (running January to December) and you can download a membership form below; simply, fill it out and email it to enquiries@jerseybatgroup.org or return it to the address shown on the form. Membership can be paid via cheque, BACS or Paypal (£10.50 to cover paypal charges)
