Public Walks
We will running our popular public bat walks on 27 and 28 August.
Saturday, 27 August, will be at Val de la Mare reservoir
Sunday, 28 August, will be at Queens’ Valley reservoir (parking at the top end).
The walks are free although donations are always appreciated. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes and bring a torch. All are welcome so tell all your friends, family and colleagues!
Groups will be taken around the reservoirs at intervals between 7.30 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. by volunteer members. At stages along the route there will be people who will give a short talks on a bat related topics (e.g bats in Jersey, echolocation, how you can help bats). At one of the stops there will be the chance to use bat detectors and see what you can spot. So you can arrive any time between 7.30 and 8.30 p.m. for the walks, At base ‘camp’ there will be information on bats and the Jersey Bat Group, bat related items to buy and hot drinks and biscuits (and maybe cake…) and members that you can chat to and answer questions.
